Most people have a misconception that ABA is just a child sitting at a table performing a direction and getting a piece of candy. While we do use reinforcement to increase the future probability of a behavior to occur, there is more to ABA than meets the eye.
ABA (which stands for Applied Behavior Analysis) is a scientific practice based on research that is used to teach skills and decrease behaviors. As behavior analysts, we take data on observable and measurable behaviors and skills, that drive our clinical decisions on developing effective programming to facilitate in skill development.
